Louise Barrett is a figurative and portrait painter from Ireland.
Louise is a professional portrait painter, figurative and conceptual artist working mostly in oil and acrylics.

Born in 1980, she was strongly influenced early on by the ethos of the home schooling she and her two sisters received and went on to pursue a course of self-determined study in painting and art techniques, working full time as an artist since.

A member of the Limerick Figure Drawing Society, life drawing is an important part of her work and is apparent in recent figurative works.

She has also added printmaking to her work, studying in Limerick Printmakers and Graphic Studio, Dublin.

From Co Limerick her love of animals and the outdoors is apparent in much of her paintings and commissioned portraits also features strongly in her work

Visits to the the early Christian chuches in Cappadocia, Turkey and the Catacombs in Rome also have an influence in her recent works.

She has exhibited widely Internationally and in Ireland including the RHA Annual exhibition and RUA in Belfast.
